  • New edition of Brummell magazine out now
In this month’s edition of Brummell we celebrate the concept of bespoke. The term comes from Savile Row, where a customer would bespeak (speak for) a measure of cloth that was then turned into a suit. But the theory behind bespoke has long since expanded beyond the world of tailoring. Inside you will find a directory of bespoke products from attaché cases to umbrellas; a guide to personalised fragrances; a look at tailored champagnes; a guide to commissioning portraits; and the insider’s scoop on the most customisable city in the world: New York.

  • Take an artistic bet
If Damien Hirst's landmark £96m sale at Southeby's this week has whetted your appetite for some serious artwork but the banking crisis is making you a little wary of spending millions, the Lazarides Extravaganza is the perfect solution. A £5,000 prize draw ticket guarantees you a piece of art and you have a one-in-ten chance of winning a major contemporary work.

  • Art meets design in Berkeley Square
Worrying about the safety of one's investments is not good for the digestion or complexion, so Brummell is looking to art and design as an asset to enjoy while its value appreciates in the safety of one's home. During Frieze week, October 15th to 19th, DesignArt London is bringing together work from 40 of the world’s top design galleries, but get in quick - last year the work sold within minutes.

  • Mayfair goes Modern
Sebastian + Barquet, a three-year old design gallery based in New York and Chelsea, is opening a new gallery showing museum quality pieces in Mayfair next month, the first in London to focus on international modernism from the 1940s to the 1960s. Its opening exhibition is dedicated to American modernist design and is curated by celebrated architect Eric Parry.

  • Watches and fast cars
What exudes exclusivity and sophistication more than a perfectly engineered limited edition timepiece to match an obediently purring sports car with 510 break horsepower? Brummell has teamed up with watchmaker Jaeger-LeCoultre and car manufacturer Aston Martin for an evening of champagne and canapes to celebrate exquisitely crafted design - and you have the chance to win one of 25 pairs of tickets to attend the event on September 8.
